Don’t worry twice… or even at all

This is a tough one.

It’s so hard for us to live in the moment…

We have so much to THINK ahead about!

I read a quote the other day and the basic premise really stuck with me:

If you worry about something that hasn’t happened yet, the ultimate truth is this:

a.) You needless worried for no reason, and everything worked out just fine…OR…

b.) The “bad thing” happened anyways and you now get to worry twice.

Either outcome, and you wasted time.

Remember those things that are in your control, and those that are not.

Having Trouble staying “in the present”?

Learning how to switch off and just “be” is a skill in of itself. It takes practice. The good news is, you can do it anytime, anywhere!

Just look out the window and shut off your mind, just for a few moments. Just BE in the here and now.

One of the best books that I recommend to clients with the “worry mind” is ‘The Power of Now’ by Eckhart Tolle. Exceptional read.

You learn to understand that there is only Joy and Peace in the present (99% of the time!); Fear and Worry live in the future, Sadness and Regret live in the past. But neither are real or tangible, the past is but a memory and the future is merely an illusion.

Have a read of this wonderful book and understand the power of the present, the true ridiculousness of worry!

“Worry is like a rocking chair, it might give you something to do, but it gets you nowhere” – Van Wilder 😉
