This is where so many people fall down!
It’s lunchtime, I’m far from home, I’m not organised! What do I do??
Common question.
Go to the Supermarket!!! This is where you will find your most OPTIMAL CHOICES! Don’t expect to find much at the convenience stores 😉

Step One: Focus on the Protein
In this situation above I have chicken and a small slice of quiche.
These are 2 go-tos that I use a LOT! Most cafes have quiche (fancy word for an egg-bake). Let’s just make the distinction between and quiche and an egg PIE (which is encased in pastry – this would potentially be your next option if the quiche wasn’t there).
Chicken – we can buy chicken in little handy packs from the supermarket now. Or if you’re with others, grab a cooked chicken and share it.
IF you can only go to ONE PLACE for lunch (ie you only have about 30mins). ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS choose the Supermarket!!!
IF you are at a café, you could choose a quiche with a salad (dressing on the side)
Step Two: Colours!!!! Veggies
Here I have a mixed salad and some carrots and kiwifruit.
Adding in the carrots and kiwi I’m getting some fresh carbs and fibre as well.
We don’t eat near enough COLOUR, so go wild!
Step Three: Condiments/Sides
These are typically your “fats” – think sauces, dressings, etc.
Here I have a little scoop of peanut butter for the carrots, and some mashed avocado for the salad.
The End Result…
You got yourself a pretty handy lunch here! Nothing fancy, nothing difficult!
Sure beats a pie and an energy drink 😉
