The Simplest Morning Movement Practice

Sun Salutation

One sequence – so many benefits

We’re all about simplicity, consistency and sustainability around here at TLB.

If it’s too complex, or takes too much time and effort each day… the sad news is… most people WON’T do it consistently. And, as we know, consistency is KING!

The beauty of “SIMPLICITY” does not indicate that it’s EASY… far from it! Rather it means that it lacks fancy frills and fuss. It’s a straight-forward, honest-to-goodness practice that will enhance your life and your day.

Introducing – The Sun Salutation

Most Yogis know this sequence, but it’s here for everyone to enjoy!

Don’t get too hung up in the strictness of the practice, soften the edges a little, enjoy the spaces that your body moulds into.

How do we do it?

A quick search on YouTube will show you many “versions” of this sequence (including the more intense ones that you can work towards). But let’s start in here with the simple version.

  • Start with one Full Round – right leg back on the first rotation, then left leg back on the second (1 Full Round = 2 Sets (L & R).
  • Try to do this sequence within 10mins upon waking – don’t think too much, just find a nice warm spot and start moving.
  • Move up to doing 3 or 4 Full Rounds each morning. Don’t think, just do 🙂

Then, go about your day: have your coffee, shower, prepare your lunch, and get ready for the day ahead.

Try it out!

Give it a week or so, see how you feel!
