When I choose full-body pieces I really like to use them for purposes other than “Working Out”.
I use these types of workouts as a means to discover how I’m feeling for the day, testing and acknowledging the way my body feels – how it’s functioning in this given moment.
TRUTH – Your body is ever-changing. You may feel and perform AMAZINGLY somedays, and not-so amazingly on others. Guess what? This is normal. The body holds many things – emotions, pain, desire for recovery, and so forth. We cannot expect it to run perfectly each and every day – as none of us live in a vacuum. We have pressures and stresses that affect our body, whether we are aware of this or not!
HOWEVER – we always STRIVE for this place of homeostasis, for the baseline to be steady. When we are aware of our baseline, we are equally aware when we are not operating near it, or equally when we are exceeding it! THIS IS THE KEY. Remember some days are for pushing, and others are for pausing. Think about the ebb and flow of the ocean – press forward, retreat, press forward, retreat.
Do not ignore the messages your body is sending you – these are integral!
How are you feeling today?
Give this full-body workout a try. It’s one that you can frequently return to in order to either “move the body” as an active recovery piece, or really push the envelope of Intensity.
As for when to choose which path to take… well, this is up to you and your body 😉
Remember to LISTEN! Enjoy the journey!!!
